Dell has announced the launch of new appliances, thin clients, and software solutions for its Desktop Virtualisation Suite.<\/p>\n

\"ls_wyse_vdi\"<\/p>\n

Dell has launched a wide variety of products on the Desktop Virtualisation Suite. These new products are aimed for its customers to deploy, configure, and manage Virtual Desktop Infrastructure (VDI) while moving towards the digital transformation path.<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

DellEMC has made a lot of announcements at DellEMC World in May 2017. The company has expanded on four new products that will be most useful for Small-Medium Businesses (SMBs).<\/p>\n

The DellEMC XC Express for VDI appliances will allow SMBs to manage and deploy a Nutanix based environment. The appliance combines all three; that are servers and storage infrastructure, virtualisation software, and cloud back up.<\/p>\n

Dell realised that they can meet the needs of Small Medium Business (SMB). Previously they were targeting large organisations whose head count was in thousands.<\/p>\n

Dell states that VDI and Desktop Virtualisation are been considered as complicated space and only large companies who focus a lot on security can afford it and have deployed it.<\/p>\n

There are many small companies who want to deploy the VDIs and Desktop Virtualisation machines but they cannot afford these large systems. Dell now has the opportunity to to meet the needs of SMBs who need these large components.<\/p>\n

Dell will be launching a product which will be targeted for SMBs whose employee strength will be 100-500 people. It will also allow the SMBs to start with a three-node configuration which goes up to four-nodes by adding more appliances to it. It supports hypervisor, brokering technology from Citrix, Microsoft, and VMware.<\/p>\n

Dell also announced the Latitude 3480 which is a mobile thin client which is based on Windows 10 IOTE. It includes the latest version of Virus-Resistant thin client OS. Dell also announced that the ThinOS 8.4 will now support VMware Blast Extreme Protocol and the new Wyse Management Suite Software. The Dell Latitude 3480 mobile thin client will soon be made available as per Dell.<\/p>\n

ThinOS 8.4 supports the latest Citrix HDX RealTime optimisation pack2.2. HTML5 video redirection has been controlled and optimised the way XenApp and XenDesktop servers deliver the HTML 5 multimedia web content. The ThinOS also supports 4K video output, which gives the best video quality output, with support for QUMU multicasting. It also supports Bluetooth Version 4.0.<\/p>\n

Dell has also update the security, including the Firmware Signature Verification by default on Firmware upgrades and downgrades and support for a simplified certificate enrolment protocol to support secure issuance of certificates to trusted network devices.<\/p>\n

Dell also announced the Wyse Management Suite which is aimed at SMBs to configure, monitor, manage and optimise Wyse Thin Client deployments.<\/p>\n

Dells highest consumers of VDI are majorly Education Sectors. Preventing cyberbullying and preventing the test scores being manipulated are some of the main focus of this sector.\u00a0 In the Healthcare Sector, organisations are mainly focused on protecting the electronic medical reports. The Local Government, banks and retailers are focused on protecting Credit Card and other personal information of their customers.<\/p>\n

Dell says that this technology adaption is very important is such industries as they want the flexibility, which is offered by Dell.<\/p>\n

Previously some organisations used to put the software, which is useful for you, on the device which will be the only way through which you can get your work done. But now with this, you have to put all the softwares on the server and then use the server to deliver those applications.<\/p>\n
