The Future of Emails: I

Email is the primary form of communication in any business for more than 20 years. Yet study after study proves that it lacks productivity-wasting time. Recently Slack made an update in their privacy policy which lets the employers read direct message of employees without them knowing about it. So think again before you gossip about your boss if you are using Slack. Keeping gossips aside, there are more important and sensitive data which cannot be shared with people outside your organisation for which a secured email client like ProtonMail are designed for. The messages sent via ProtonMail are encrypted end to end, as the company’s servers are in Switzerland, as the privacy law over there are very strict. Your business can set it up so that even admins can’t access all the accounts. No team chat client can do that yet.


When emails start looking and working like browsers & apps

Recently Google announced a Gmail developer preview of AMP for Email. With the help of Accelerated Mobile Pages (AMP) mobile web pages load faster which they are using it to build a self-contained web experience for email. For example, you get an email from a tech company showcasing a laptop on sale, so you will get an option of directly purchasing it, without getting redirected to another page, but purchasing it directly from your inbox itself. This feature is not much of a use for internal mails or B2B mails, but this can be useful for B2C businesses where an organisation directly deals with end customers.
